THINGS CHANGE AS WE FINISH COMPETITIVE MARCHING SEASON

~Month-At-A-Glance~

I am SO PROUD of these KIDS! What a fantastic marching season we have enjoyed!!! Their performance Saturday was outstanding – truly the best of the year! From the Drum Majors to the Guard, the Majorettes to the Horn line, and the Dazzlers to the Percussion – all across the field – at was a magical performance. It was special to see so many Superior Ratings distributed over the course of the season and Best in Class awards earned by so many captions. What a great season!

See some important notes below from our Band Boosters…

SPOOKS IN THE PARK- BRIAN WILSON

Berry Middle School’s first concert performance of this school year will be at our 6th Annual Spooks in the Park Band Costume Concert and Trunk or Treat on Tuesday, October 30, at 6:30 pm in the Berry Competition Gym. Students should report to the Gym by 6:00 PM. The Beginning, Symphonic, and Advanced Symphonic Bands will perform a brief concert. The evening will culminate in a Trunk or Treat in the Berry East parking lot. New this year will be the addition of food trucks on site, before the concert and during the Trunk or Treat, which will provide a variety of food options. We invite you to sign up to be a trunker with us that night – great prizes will be given for the best trunks!
Tickets for the event will be $5 per person and a $20 family maximum. Children 3 and under are free.

HOSPITALITY- LYN CAMPBELL

This week’s dinner will feature Zaxby’s fried chicken strips. Salads and
assorted chips will also be provided. In honor of Homecoming, we will
be adding a new fruit and a new dessert to our regular rotation.

VOLUNTEERS- GINGER HEWITT

Please check your calendar against the signup bit.ly/SHPSband2018 to see
if you can help during our last several events. Thanks for your help.

PRESIDENT- CHRIS SMITH
So proud of our band and their performance at the Hoover Invitational this weekend.
It is hard to believe that the Marching Season is winding down and only 3 football
games remain. Please continue to support our students by filling the remaining spots
for Concessions, Equipment Crew, Chaperones and any other opportunities to serve.
Go to Signup Genius to register.

Also, a special appeal to submit any outstanding Fair Share Fees. These funds have
been used to feed and transport your student, plus many integral behind-the-scenes
expenses such as instrument repair and uniform purchases. Let’s finish out the season
with 100% of these fees collected.

Feel free to contact me via email at smithcnv@gmail.com or by phone at (205) 999-1304.

CONCESSIONS- Ken Gaddis

Please sign up for our last home game of the season! We need your help to run the concessions one last time before we close the doors for the year. Go to signup genius and pick a spot! We need a little bit of everything, set up, grill master, closing. Thank you!!
Volunteers are needed to help with a postseason cleanup of the concession stands. Those that helped at the beginning of the year know how important it is that we go through and prepare the stands for the off-season. We will gather and work just a few morning hours one Saturday in November. This is an important project.
