Here’s this week’s eNote:

Our concert bands are making preparations for our upcoming performances at Music Performance Assessment (MPA) and the Crimson Festival of Winds.

  • Our after-school rehearsal schedule is listed online at www.spainparkband.org/calendar  Our 2nd and 6th period classes will be combing for these performances.  Their rehearsals will be listed as Symphonic Winds.  Our 5th period is listed as Chamber Winds.
  • We are taking a Pep Band to Thursday’s Girls Basketball Final Four and Saturday’s Championship Game.  I can only take 25 students. Sign up for consideration on Mr. Neugent’s office door. I will select the band on Monday and share final information at that time.
  • The SP Band is going to HOST the Berry MS 8th grade band on Thursday, February 27 (This is our SECOND ATTEMPT!). We’d like to grill some hotdogs and hamburgers to feed them lunch.

Parents, would you be willing to help grill and serve some burgers and dogs on next Thursday? I’m guessing a 9 AM start time to get everything fired up and cooked for a 11:30 lunch time.

Email cneugent@hoover.k12.al.us if you could help!

  • Festival Concert (Monday, March 2 at SPHS Theater) is a REQUIRED combined performance by all of our instrumentalists.  It serves as a portion of the nine weeks grading! This is a joint concert with the Berry Bands. We are holding the concert in two sessions.
  • Sound Check for Symphonic Winds is 5:45 PM.  Performance begins at 6:00 PM and will conclude at 7 PM.
