At the Veteran’s Day Concert, we also announced a fundraising opportunity to raise funds for the Chamber Winds trip to Atlanta in the Spring.  Mr. Neugent has secured a puzzle of the band (500 pieces) and we are selling sponsorships for puzzle pieces at $25/piece.  If you sponsor a piece, you can sign your name along the matting surrounding the picture.  The picture is in the band room and you can purchase sponsorships from now until the Christmas Concert, where we will again have it set out on a table.  If you have questions, please e-mail me at jspowell4175@bellsouth.net.

Please remember that the Planet Fundraiser opportunities are ongoing, so anytime that you eat at Chick Fil-A, Jimmy Johns, Milo’s, Cowboy Chicken or Taco Mama you can send your receipt in to Mr. Neugent and we can upload it to receive money for the band.  Also, if you shop at the New Balance Store, Pump it Up Pelham, or any Piggly Wiggly or use Shipt you can send those receipts in too.  Just put them in an envelope within a week of when you get the receipt, and send them through your student to Mr. Neugent!

Instrumentalists – Spring Trip to  Nashville, TN

April 5-6

Cost per student $419 (4 students per room)

Cost per adult $445 (2 adults per room)

YOUR SECOND PAYMENT IS NOW DUE.  PLEASE SEND PAYMENT VIA CHECK MADE PAYABLE TO SPHS.  INCLUDE YOUR STUDENT’S NAME IN THE MEMO SECTION OF THE CHECK.

Our Instrumentalists will be traveling to Nashville, TN on April 5-6 to attend a Nashville House concert, tour the Country Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Theater, participate in a song-writing experience and make a professional recording in the Ocean Way studios with composer/producer Camp Kirkland!

Cost of the trip is $420 for quad occupancy.  Our Band Boosters are developing three effective fundraising activities to help cover the expense.  We want ALL of our instrumental students to participate in this unique and fun musical experience.  Please plan on participating in these fundraising activities.  We don’t want finances to keep any of our students from enjoying this opportunity.

Symphonic Winds – Music For All Southeastern Regional Concert Festival

March 21-22

The Symphonic Winds will be traveling to perform as part of the SRCF held in Atlanta, GA on the campus of Georgia State University.  There was a lengthy audition process required to receive this invitation – to be invited is a tremendous honor!

We are working to minimize the financial obligation related to this event.  Our “Piece of the Puzzle” fundraiser mentioned earlier is designed to cover the entire cost of registration, travel and hotel expenses.  Should we be able to identify 500 donors at $25 per piece, it would raise the funds needed.  Please consider sponsoring a piece of the puzzle and contact family and friends about donating.  We can accept cash or check donations (made payable to SPHS) and you can pay online using MSF.

If each of the 70 members of the Symphonic Winds can identify 8 sponsors, we can surpass our goal!
