Good afternoon, SP Band!


  • We want to thank last week’s HT Sponsor,  Montgomery Transport, LLC.  It was a terrific show to sponsor and they did so in Alex’ honor. Thank you, Montgomery Transport.  We are still looking for a sponsor for this week’s show.  Email cneugent@hoover.k12.al.us if you or someone you know would be interested.
  • The band boosters have created a Marching Band Season T-shirt and it’s currently for sale.  This shirt can be purchased through My School Fees as you’re paying the fees for your child.  It is listed under “Optional Fees” and is noted as “Band Booster Shirt.” The cost is $15 and is available S-XXL.  Proceeds will go into the general band fund for all students. Please submit orders by Monday, September 7.  If you have any questions please contact Chad Hewitt at chadh155@gmail.com. 
  • Mrs. Reynolds ( SP band Mom) is selling SP Masks and SP Wristbands.  If you are interested in custom-made SP PPE, you can contact her at clvirtualsolutions@gmail.com
  • Here is the WEEKLY SCHEDULE. Call time on Friday for all students (In-Person and Virtual Learners) is 4 PM, in performance attire.
  • SENIOR NIGHT is this Friday!  Senior Night eliminates many of our faithful parent volunteers from concessions and chaperone duties as they focus on recognizing their Senior children. It is critical that our other parents fill those voids in the Concessions Stand and Chaperone/Loading positions.
  • Instrumentalists will wear their WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE t-shirt, khaki shorts and tennis shoes.  Visual Ensemble students will wear their new uniforms.  Can’t wait for you to see them!
  • WE NEED 20 CONCESSIONS  STAND WORKERS for FRIDAY’S GAME!!!   Each family is asked to serve 2 shifts in our CONCESSIONS STAND (SIGN UP HERE FOR VARSITY).  

Masks are required, social distancing will be super important and our Concessions Chairs have worked tirelessly all summer to ensure we can do this SAFELY and EFFECTIVELY for both YOU (our volunteers) and our CUSTOMERS.  

We have CASHLESS options, creating multiple REMOTE POINTS of SALE to limit the folks in the stand, and limiting our food choices to keep things SAFE and EASY.

We also provide CONCESSIONS for JV/9th Grade Games (SIGN UP HERE FOR JV/9th GRADE).

A Note from Concession Chair: We have tremendous need for this week’s game, particularly the second shift.  Please consider helping out!   Please don’t forget to wear a hat and mask for every shift.  We will limit the number of folks in the actual concession stand area and will be selling at multiple places throughout the stadium.  Thanks!  Dave Luthin, Concessions Chair (Cell: 205-329-3333)

  • The Trussville game is another opportunity to sign up to CHAPERONEWe especially need help with EQUIPMENT!!! Unfortunately, chaperoning DOES NOT count toward your CONCESSIONS SHIFT.  But it is FUN and you play a HUGE role in helping ensure our students are SAFE and represent our community, school and families with CLASS and DISTINCTION.   • A friendly reminder that our after-school rehearsals are being held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4-6 PM.  These rehearsals are MANDATORY and we need full attendance in order to prepare our field show.
  • Our Band Boosters realize that our current school and rehearsal schedule can pose transportation problems for our families.  They are eager to help your students attend PRACTICE and have created a way to communicate with one another regarding your willingness to participate in a BAND BOOSTER REHEARSAL CARPOOL.
